Assignments: Engineer

  • 10 Repairs
  • Kill 1 enemy with a Repair Torch

10 repairs sounds easy, but if you find yourself always repairing an empty vehicle, there are easier ways to get them. Noshar Canals for example, preferably (but not required)  on the US side so you get the ship.  If you remain passenger in the Little Bird, the pilot, no matter how well he flies will undoubtedly need repairs sooner or later.  Usually, you can get your 10 repairs in one repair session. But it’s the easiest way to get your repair medal, as well.
If you missed the chopper, try the AMTRAC.  This vehicle cannot be stolen by the opposing team like tanks can.  If you take it out of the ship, and it gets damaged, just repair it! No one needs to be seated inside it for you to get points, as it’s an active spawn beacon.

The repair tool challenge is very fun. Repair tools don’t cause much damage to a soldier as it is currently, but soon to be nerfed.  Don’t take a repair to a gun fight, though.  The easiest way to get a kill with this is a soldier that is in prone position, and has his back facing you.  If you hover over him and start “Repairing” him, he may start to turn but in prone you turn too slowly and he will likely be dead before he can even see what is happening.  This works on standing soldiers too, of course. But they can turn around much faster and end up shooting you.  All you need is the urge to resist knifing.

  • 50 AT Rocket Kills
  • Destroy 1 enemy vehicle with a Repair Torch
  • 5 wins on Conquest

Reward: QBZ-95B

50 anti tank rocket kills can take some time, especially if Engineer isn’t your favored class.  If you can shoot a tank from behind, it will only take 2 shots for you to get a kill. A popular method is “rocket spam”. Where you use your rocket in stead of your gun. People hate this, but it’s definitely the easiest and quickest way to get your 50 kills.  If you mag runs dry as you are shooting someone with your carbine, well forget your handgun, just take out your rocket and finish him off.

People complain endlessly about destroying an enemy vehicle with a repair tool. It’s not that difficult.  If the tank is disabled and on fire, start  torching. You will only destroy the enemy if he remains inside the vehicle, otherwise you will start to repair it. Though there are different strategies to make this easier,  there are even easier ways to get this ticked off that doesn’t involve tanks.  Mortars and MAVs,  are considered vehicles too. If you find one of these abandoned, you can destroy them with your repair tool and finally be done with this little assignment. I’ve heard this works on spawn beacons and T-UGS sensors  as well, so it won’t hurt to try those as well.

5 conquest wins shouldn’t be hard. But, if you are in a hurry, check the teams before spawning into a game and switch if necessary or available. Of course, you are not required to play as Engineer to have it count towards your assignment wins.

About battlenoobs

Battlenoobs was created primarily for the beginners in the battlefield who may not have experience with the Battlefield franchises, or FPS in general. While most of the information is basic and targeted at console users, I hope to add some tips and strategies for advanced players as well. Any inaccuracies that you may come across in this blog are result of a game patch.
